Coronavirus: Georgia Reports 10 New Cases, 242 Remain Infected
As of August 18, 10 new cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in Georgia, bringing the total number to 1351.
"We have 10 new confirmed cases. The source of one is the village of Lenjeri, Mestia municipality, another is related to Kobuleti, Havana Bar. One patient is the contact of the previously confirmed case. 4 are imported cases. The source of two infected patients is being examined," said Marina Ezugbaia, the Medical Director of the Tbilisi Infectious Diseases Hospital.
She added that 6 more patients have recovered from the illness, bringing the total number of recoveries to 1092.
7235 people are under mandatory quarantine and 302 under observation in hospitals.
17 patients have died of COVID-19 in the country.
41 people have been brought from abroad for medical treatment.
Currently, there are 242 active cases in Georgia.
