WHO Director-General Praises Georgia's COVID-19 Response

Ambassador of Georgia to the UN Office in Geneva, Alexandre Maisuradze, today met the Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO), Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, to discuss current coronavirus situation in Georgia and the measures taken by the government in response to the crisis. 

the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated: “The WHO Director-General praised Georgia’s coronavirus response and noted that the country is exemplary not only for the effective fight against COVID-19, but also for introducing a universal healthcare programme, as well as combating Hepatitis C and  fulfilling obligations under the WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control”.

Georgia has registered 10 new cases of the coronavirus infection earlier today.
