Visit a Family Winery in the Village of Pirveli Maisi
The Keda Municipality, located in the middle of the Adjaristskali river basin, is an integral part of the beautiful region of Adjara. The municipality’s economic potential and breath-taking nature were often overlooked, but back in 2017, with the support of the EU ENPARD programme, CENN established a Local Action Group in the Keda Municipality and funded over 70 different projects in various fields including agriculture, tourism, culture, and education, among others. Over time, Georgia Today will be sharing stories about local businesses and recommending places to visit and stay for quality wine, eco-tours, and/or cultural and musical experiences.
Located in the mountainous Adjara, in the village of Pirveli Maisi, Shervashidze Family Winery is a very popular location in Keda Municipality. It greets the guests with wine degustation and Georgian traditional dishes. However that’s not the only reason holiday-makers choose to visit the Shirvashidze Family – within the frames of one or two-day tours, the family hotel offers a chance to visit historic monuments from X-XII centuries. If extreme sports are more of your thing, don’t worry, you can try zip lining in the village!
Having opened its doors in 2006, the Shervashidze Winery stands out with the beautiful nature and the calm environment that surround it. The experienced entrepreneur and founder of the winery, Aleksandre Shervashidze has extensive knowledge of the local culture and history. It should also be noted that Shervashidze wines are very high-quality and have won some awards.
The family recently built four unique cottages with breathtaking views and distinctive structure that offers its guests cozy, quiet, and comfortable place to stay.
