Fire on the Territory of Borjomi-Kharagauli National Park Localized

A fire that broke out near the village of Atskuri, on the slope of the Amarati mountain, on the territory of Borjomi-Kharagauli National Park, in Akhaltsikhe Municipality yesterday has been localized, the Emergency Management Service of Georgia reports. Currently, there is no danger of the fire spreading in the area. 

Firefighters are working to extinguish the fire on the spot. 

"The fire is far from the settlement and the population is not in danger. The involvement of the helicopter is not necessary at this stage,” said the Governor of Samtskhe-Javakheti, Beso Amiranashvili.

The reason behind the fire is still unknown.
