38 New Cases: Georgia Reports Record High Number of Coronavirus Infections Since April

38 new cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in Georgia during the last 24 hours, bringing the total number to 1548. 

This number is a record high in Georgia since April 16, when 42 cases of coronavirus were detected.

Marina Ezugbaia, the Medical Director of the Tbilisi Infectious Diseases Hospital, is expected to explain the sources of the new cases later today. 

The number of recoveries has increased by 17, reaching 1270.

5806 people are under a 14-day mandatory quarantine and 239 under medical observation.

19 people have died of the virus in the country.

Currently, there are 259 active cases in Georgia.
