Tbilisi XXII Int'l Book Festival to be Held on September 22-27

The XXII Tbilisi International Book Festival will be organized by the Georgian Association of Book Publishers and Distributors on September 22-27. The festival will be held at Expo Georgia in compliance with all regulations.

Due to the current situation, the festival period has been extended and the exhibition space will host visitors for 6 days instead of the traditional 4 days. This change is necessary to get as many readers as possible attending the festival, as the number of people allowed in the 11th pavilion of Expo Georgia at any one time will be limited. There will be a pre-registration system for those wishing to visit Expo Georgia Pavilion 11.

In addition to the traditional form of book purchase, the festival also offers customers new opportunities: purchase directly at the publishing stands at Expo Georgia Pavilion 11; purchase a pre-selected book with publishing operators in the yard of Expo Georgia without entering the pavilion; or buy books online, without leaving home, on the website of the Georgian Association of Book Publishers and Distributors www.gpba.ge.

Currently, more than 40 publishing houses have registered to participate in the festival. Each participant will traditionally offer a special festival discount to readers.

The main stage for the literary-publishing program of the 22nd Tbilisi International Book Festival will be located in the yard of Expo Georgia, in the open air. The stage will be fully loaded during the six festival days and anyone will be able to attend it. The festival program includes presentations of new books and meetings with Georgian writers; video recordings by foreign authors; a children's program; a publishing-professional program, etc.

The festival organizers have already received all the necessary instructions from the Ministry of Health.

The Tbilisi International Book Festival is supported by Tbilisi City Hall, the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of Georgia and the Writers' House.

TBC is a friend of the festival.
