Coronavirus: Of 28 New Cases,12 Connected to 'Dona Cluster' in Batumi

Marina Ezugbaia, the Medical Director of the Tbilisi Infectious Diseases Hospital, has clarified details of the sources of 28 new coronavirus cases detected in Georgia today.

"28 new cases were confirmed, a total of 1596 are infected. Of these, 12 are related to the confectionery 'Dona' cluster in Batumi, overall this cluster includes 36 confirmed cases. Three cases are contacts of confirmed patients, while another 3 are employees of the Rustavi 'Aversi' clinic. 2 confirmed cases are imported, one of them is a truck driver. 4 patients have a travel history in Adjara. The sources and contacts of the remaining 4 patients are being established. The number of recoveries has increased by 15. The recovery rate stands at 81%. 275 active patients are being treated at COVID Centers," she stated.

28 new cases of coronavirus were confirmed in Georgia during the last 24 hours, bringing the total number to 1596.
