Coronavirus: Of 25 New Cases, 9 Connected to 'Dona Cluster' in Batumi

Marina Endeladze, the representative of the Tbilisi Infectious Diseases Hospital, has clarified details of the sources of 25 new coronavirus cases detected in Georgia today.

She noted that 319 patients are currently undergoing treatment in COVID centers.

In her words, 9 out of 25 new cases of infection are related to the confectionery 'Dona' cluster in Batumi.

"Currently, 319 infected people are being treated in COVID centers. 25 new cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in Georgia today, 9 of them are from 'Dona Cluster,' 8 are contacts of confirmed patients, 3 are imported cases and 1 of them is a truck driver, and 3 patients have travel history in Adjara region. 1 is an employee of the Aversi Clinic in Rustavi. We have only one case for which the source is not confirmed and epidemiological studies are ongoing. The number of recovered people has increased by 8,” said Marina Endeladze.

25 new cases of coronavirus were confirmed in Georgia during the last 24 hours, bringing the total number to 1621.
