Quarantine Period for Those Entering Georgia to be Reduced to 8 Days
The quarantine period for those entering Georgia will be reduced to 8 days, Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia announced today.
He explained that in case of a negative answer to the PCR test on the 9th day, citizens will be able to leave the quarantine area; however, after 12 days, they will be obliged to undergo another PCR test.
"With this move, we are reducing the number of quarantine days and giving our citizens more freedom to return to their families as quickly and safely as possible," Gakharia said.
During the coronavirus pandemic, the initial quarantine period in Georgia was 14 days. In mid-August, the government reduced that to 12 days.
At today's meeting of the Interagency Coordination Council, a decision was made to further reduce the quarantine period to 8 days.
