Gov't Postpones the Reopening of Schools until October 1
Pupils and students will no longer be returning to their schools on September 15. Following the decision of the government, the reopening of schools has been delayed until October 1. The learning process will be postponed in both private and public schools and universities in Tbilisi, Kutaisi, Rustavi, Gori, Zugdidi, Poti, Batumi, and Kobuleti.
Prime Minister of Georgia Giorgi Gakharia informed the public of the recent decision during Friday’s briefing.
The schools have yet to confirm whether they will be continuing the educational process remotely.
The government’s decision comes after 87 cases of the coronavirus were confirmed in Georgia overnight, a record-high number since the virus was first detected in the country back in February.
