Coronavirus Claims Life of 26th Patient in Georgia

Coronavirus has claimed the life of a 26th patient in Georgia. 

Amiran Gamkrelidze, head of the National Center for Disease Control and Public Health, stated that the 70-year-old patient, with serious concomitant diseases, died in Batumi Hospital. 

"The patient was 70 years old. Unfortunately, on September 17, the patient was admitted to the hospital in critical condition. The deceased had ischemic heart disease and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease,” he said. 

Gamkrelidze explained that 497 patients are undergoing treatment in hospitals Adjara at the moment, while about 70 of them are seriously ill.

"5 patients have died in the last 48 hours," he added.
