700 People Have Expressed a Desire to Work Remotely from Georgia

About 700 people have expressed a desire to enter and work remotely in Georgia within a month, the Georgian National Tourism Administration (GNTA) reports.

Based on GNTA data, 31 people have already entered Georgia within the framework of the program, which was launched on August 27 and in which employees of various global companies working remotely in 95 countries are offered to work remotely from Georgia for at least 180 days.

The national tourism agency reports that the biggest interest in the project has come from Russia, the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada and Ukraine.

Based on the number of applications received to date, about 700 people registered as participants of the 'Work from Georgia' project and expressed a desire to enter the country and work remotely. 52% of the received applications belong to Freelancers, 28% to full-time employees, and 21% to entrepreneurs. 

Applicants registered under the project represent more than 60 different countries by nationality.

Of the received applications, more than 300 have been confirmed, while up to 70 applications have not been approved.

"31 people have already entered Georgia within the framework of the program, from the USA, Australia, the United Kingdom, Russia, Ukraine, New Zealand," the National Tourism Administration told InterpressNews.

Those wishing to come to Georgia within the framework of the project fill in special forms in advance at https://stopcov.ge/ and confirm the necessary conditions for entering the country. In addition, they must fully provide 2-week quarantine and testing at their own expense. (Fill in the form link: https://registration.gov.ge/pub/form/20/ydrv71/)

On filling out said application form, the foreign applicant should upload the following documents in English:

• A copy of their passport;

• Personal information (name, surname, personal number, address);

• Contact details of their foreign employer;

• Information about the job position and income (at least $2,000 per month);

• Consent to enter a mandatory 12-day quarantine, as well as consent to undergo PCR testing at their own expense;

• Mandatory health insurance, valid for at least six months.

Applications will be reviewed within 10 working days.
