Doctor of Tbilisi Central Hospital, Accused of Illegal Medical Activities, Released
Surgeon Vakhtang Kipiani, accused of illegal medical activities, has been released from custody. He wrote about it on social media, thanking the Minister of Health Ekaterine Tikaradze "For her involvement and instant response."
"I left prison and returned to my family and work. The first step was taken to prove my truth. Every day I spent in prison was the hardest - primarily because of the feeling of injustice, but not for a moment did I lose faith, hoping that I would be able to prove my innocence.
"I would like to thank the entire medical community for such unanimous support, my friends, a lot of people unknown to me, who took my ordeal to heart.
"Thanks to the Minister of Health for her involvement, and the instant response.
"I hope that by following all the rules of law, we will achieve the final result and prove our innocence," he wrote.
The director of the Tbilisi Central Hospital was released on bail and the doctors of the clinic were sentenced to imprisonment on August 5. The Prosecutor's Office claimed that due to the negligence and mistakes made by the doctors at the Tbilisi Central Hospital, the patient is still in a comatose state.
The lawyer of the Tbilisi Central Hospital says that the Defense does not agree with the charges against the director of the clinic and two doctors and that the information was interpreted by the investigation agency and is untrue.
