Coronavirus: Georgia Reports 508 New Cases, 348 Recoveries, 4 Deaths
As of October 7, 508 new cases of coronavirus have been detected in Georgia, bringing the total number of infected people to 9753.
Of the new cases of coronavirus, 259 were detected in Adjara, 111 in Tbilisi, 91 in Imereti, 24 in Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti, 8 in Guria, 5 in Kvemo Kartli, 5 in Mtskheta-Mtianeti, 2 in Shida Kartli and 2 in Kakheti.
The number of recovered patients increased by 348 and reached 5235.
Coronavirus claimed the lives of four more patients in the last 24 hours, and the death toll has increased to 62.
Of the 4 cases of death, 2 are linked to the Adjara region, 1 to Imereti, and 1 to Tbilisi. The deceased patients had concomitant diseases along with COVID-19.
"4 more patients have died of the virus in the last 24 hours, 2 of them, a 70-year-old man and a 65-year-old woman with concomitant diseases died in Adjara. Their condition was serious. Another patient, an 88-year-old woman died in Terjola, Georgia's Imereti region. An 83-year-old man also died in Tbilisi,” said Marina Endeladze, Head of the Boxed Department of the Infectious Diseases Hospital.
Currently, there are 4518 active cases in the country, of which 58 patients are critically ill, and 8 of them are transferred from the occupied territory of Abkhazia.
