New Head of the CoE Office Praises Georgia's Successful COVID-19 Management
Today, Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia held a meeting with new Head of the Office of the Council of Europe Natalia Vutova.
During the introductory meeting, Giorgi Gakharia congratulated the Head of the Council of Europe's Office on the beginning of her mission and expressed commitment to continuing close cooperation with the Office of the Council of Europe.
The Head of the Council of Europe's Office praised Georgia's successful COVID-19 management and singled out the country's commendable Presidency of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe, despite the pandemic.
The meeting emphasized Georgia's progress toward human rights protection and stronger democracy and the importance of continuous reforms and subsequent support from the Council of Europe.
The Prime Minister underlined the importance of holding the October 31 elections in a free, fair, and democratic environment. The Prime Minister and the Head of the Council of Europe's Office also discussed the region's ongoing processes.
The meeting was attended by Head of the Administration of the Georgian Government Natia Mezvrishvili.
