Germany Gifts 5 Breathing Machines to Georgia for Treatment of COVID Patients
The German Federal Government has provided five breathing machines to the Georgian Ministry of Health for the treatment of patients infected with COVID-19. German Ambassador Hubert Knirsch handed over the devices to the Deputy Minister Tamar Gabunia on October 7, 2020, as part of an official ceremony.
The 5 breathing machines produced by the company Dräger were funded and purchased by the German Foreign Ministry's fund to support the Eastern Partnership countries during the COVID-19 pandemic, with the German side providing specific assistance on the ground against the spread of the infection.
The devices will be placed at the Center for Infectious Diseases, AIDS and Clinical Immunology. The ceremony was attended by Marina Ezugbaia, Medical Director of the Infectious Diseases Hospital, and Shota Gogichaishvili, Executive Director of the Center for Infectious Diseases, AIDS and Clinical Immunology.
