Coronavirus: Georgia Reports 519 New Cases, 253 Recoveries, 6 Deaths

As of October 10, 519 new cases of coronavirus have been detected in Georgia, bringing the total number of infected people to 11,271.

Marina Endeladze, Head of the Boxed Department of the Infectious Diseases Hospital, stated that the number of new cases of coronavirus in Tbilisi has decreased compared to yesterday.

She noted that 57 of the infected patients are in a critical condition.

"A total of 519 new cases were registered in the last 24 hours, of which 222 new infections were reported in Adjara; yesterday the number was 190. The number decreased a little in Tbilisi, 137, while yesterday there were 179 new cases. 99 cases were reported in Imereti. There are 31 new cases in Kvemo Kartli, 10-10 in Guria and Mtskheta Mtianeti respectively, 7 in Shida Kartli, 5 in Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti, 3 in Kakheti, 1 in Samtskhe-Javakheti," stated Endeladze.

The number of recovered patients increased by 253 and reached 6119.

5971 citizens are in mandatory quarantine and 836 under examination in hospitals. 1100 people are placed in COVID hotels throughout the country. 

Coronavirus claimed the lives of 6 more patients in 24 hours, increasing the death toll to 78. 4 of the 6 deceased patients were being treated in the Adjara region. 

"4 patients died in Adjara, all 4 were women - 65, 76, 80 and 90 years old. They had concomitant diseases. I do not have information about the two other cases yet," Marina Endeladze told reporters. 

Currently, there are 5074 active cases in Georgia.
