Coronavirus: Georgia Reports 887 New Cases, 246 Recoveries, 11 Deaths

As of October 16, 887 new cases of coronavirus have been detected in Georgia, bringing the total number of infected people to 15,327.

Of the new cases, 342 were reported in Adjara, 277 in Tbilisi, 198 in Imereti, 22 in Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti, 11 in Guria, 12 in Shida Kartli, 3 in Kvemo Kartli, 10 in Mtskheta-Mtianeti, 7 in Kakheti, 3 in Samtskhe-Javakheti, and 2 in Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti. 

Marina Endeladze, Head of the Boxed Department of the Infectious Diseases Hospital, told reporters that there are more than 70 critically ill patients undergoing treatment in the country. 

The number of recovered patients increased by 246 and reached 7613.

11 more patients have died of coronavirus in the last 24 hours in Georgia, and the death toll has increased to 124. 

5 of 11 deceased patients were from Tbilisi, 3 from Batumi, 2 from Imereti, and 1 from Gori. 

Currently, there are 7590 active cases in Georgia.
