Coronavirus: Georgia Reports 958 New Cases, with 397 in Tbilisi

As of October 17, 958 new cases of coronavirus have been detected in Georgia, bringing the total number of infected people to 16,285.

Of the new cases, 226 were reported in Adjara, 397 in Tbilisi, 232 in Imereti, 27 in Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti, 14 in Shida Kartli, 20 in Kvemo Kartli, 15 in Mtskheta-Mtianeti, 13 in Kakheti, 8 in Samtskhe-Javakheti, and 6 in Guria. 

Marina Endeladze, Head of the Boxed Department of the Infectious Diseases Hospital, told reporters that the number of infections has increased in Tbilisi.

The number of recovered patients increased by 214 and reached 7827.

4 more patients have died of coronavirus in the last 24 hours in Georgia, bringing the death toll to 128. 

2 of 4 deceased patients were being treated in Tbilisi and 2 in Batumi. 

Currently, there are 8330 active cases in Georgia.
