Restaurants in Mtskheta to be Closed After 22:00
Based on the decision of the Georgian government, restaurants in Mtskheta will no longer operate after 22:00.
A representative of the government administration Natia Mezvrishvili stated that following the decision to close restaurants after 22:00 in Tbilisi due to the deterioration of the epidemiological situation, citizens started to actively visit restaurants in the town of Mtskheta near the capital. Therefore, the decision was made to establish a similar regime there.
Restaurants and bars are allowed to operate from 07:00 until 22:00.
“When we restrict restaurants to work until 22:00, we base our decision on specific logic and we urge you to adhere to the decisions and recommendations of the Government of Georgia by not only staying away from events that are banned but to keep away from unnecessary events at large. It is predominantly done to safeguard the health of our citizens, especially in the conditions when we do not intend to introduce strict restrictions nation-wide. It is because the national economy will not sustain it. That is why, I wish to once again urge and call upon you to comply with the rules in a maximum manner, as we are driven by the goal of economic recovery at the stage of adaptation and management. This goal is achieved by two means – either we lock-down the country entirely or we all comply with the rules. We are talking about adherence to basic rules,” stated Mezvrishvili.
For the record, until now, the decision to restrict the work of restaurants and entertainment facilities after 22:00 was in force only in Tbilisi and Imereti, and earlier the same decision was made in Adjara.
