Winners of Niko Ketskhoveli School Prize 2020 Revealed
Niko Ketskhoveli School Prize 2020 winners have been revealed.
The Niko Ketskhoveli School Prize Award finals took place on 26th October the national day of Austria and the event was opened by the ambassador of Austria, Mr. Thomas Mühlmann.
The top prize winner schools are:
1st place – Duisi Public School
2nd place – Akhalsopeli Public School
3rd place – Tserovani Public School
The winning schools will be awarded the following grants:
1st place – 8,000 GEL
2nd place – 6,000 GEL
3rd place – 4,000 GEL
The prize money will go to the ecoclubs for the benefit of the schools. The winning schools will also be hosted by the Turkish embassy in Georgia and UNICEF office.
Chosen schools of the project partners are:
The chosen school of the National Forest Agency is Kharagauli #2 Public School and as a special prize they will receive tents and hiking equipment. The school also became the chosen school of the Ilia State University and will receive book store vouchers.
The chosen school of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia is Letsitskhvaie Public School eco-club, who will be given a 3,200 GEL voucher to purchase technical equipment for the school.
The named eco-speaker chosen by the Environmental Education and Information Center is Eco-speaker St. Alex Shushania Orthodox School-Gymnasium Eco-club and the Green Prize goes to Tbilisi #176 Public School.
GIZ named Duisi Public School, Zugdidi #1 Public School, Maradisi Public School, Chiatura #5, #1 and #2 Public Schools as their chosen schools.
National Geographic selected Otobaia Publi School as their personal winner.
Last but not least, CENN’s chosen schools were Otobaia and Kitskhi Public schools. As a prize, the schools will be given laptops.
