Coronavirus: Georgia Reports 1791 New Cases, 28 Deaths
In the past 24 hours, Georgia reported 1791 new COVID cases, 2413 recoveries, and 28 deaths. One of the recent coronavirus victims was a 15-year-old girl who reportedly had an atrial septal defect. She was being treated at the Tbilisi State Medical University, The First University Clinic.
Of the recent fatalities, 10 were recorded in Tbilisi, 7 died in Adjara, 7 in Imereti, 2 in Shida Kartli, 1 in Kvemo Kartli, and 1 in Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti.
Of the new 1791 COVID cases:
Tbilisi is responsible for 532;
Imereti - 392;
Adjara - 369;
Samegrelo Zemo-Svaneti - 187;
Kvemo Kartli - 86;
Shida Kartli - 62;
Kakheti - 57;
Samtskhe-Javakheti - 56;
Guria - 29;
Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti - 21.
Overall, since the virus was first detected in the country back in February, Georgia has registered 40,727 COVID cases. 25,104 of these have already recovered, while 335 have lost their lives.
At the time of writing, there are 15,262 confirmed active cases in the country. 4188 patients are being treated in hospitals, 503 of them are in serious/critical condition.
There are 2204 individuals in COVID-hotels, 8870 are being treated in their homes, and 3007 are quarantined.
