Coronavirus: Georgia Records 1852 New Cases, 1696 Recoveries, 7 Deaths

"1,852 newly confirmed cases of infection were detected in the last 24 hours," Berdia Sichinava, Deputy Head of Task Force operating under the Inter-Agency Coordination Council said at a press briefing held at the Government Administration today.

He spoke about the latest statistics on coronavirus and the measures taken by the government in the last 24 hours.

"1,852 newly confirmed cases of infection were detected in the last 24 hours. The total number of confirmed cases of Covid-19 detected in the country since the first infection is 42,579.

"We still maintain positive dynamics in terms of the growth of recovered people. In particular, 1,696 people recovered in the last 24 hours and the total number of recovered people increased to 26,800.

"Unfortunately, we also had deaths in the last 24 hours. 7 more people died of the virus, 6 - in Adjara and 1 - in Kakheti. Since February 26, 2020, we have a total of 342 deaths”, said Berdia Sichinava.

Of the 1852 new cases of coronavirus detected in Georgia in the last 24 hours, most of the cases were reported in Tbilisi.
