All Municipal Kindergartens to be Temporarily Closed in Tbilisi

“Effective tomorrow, Kindergartens will be temporarily closed until the epidemiological situation improves,” Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze announced today.

"We launched studies in kindergartens, and had to close about 40. Due to the current epidemiological situation, there has been a lot of discussion on this issue, and from tomorrow the kindergartens will be completely closed until the epidemiological situation improves. We care about the health of our children," Kaladze said.

Georgia has reported 2295 new coronavirus cases, 19 deaths and 2537 recoveries today.

Update: Later, the government administration clarified that the closure of kindergartens applies only to municipal kindergartens and the restriction does not apply to private kindergartens. Private kindergartens will continue operating in accordance with strict regulations and safety norms.
