Kazakhstan to Sell Oil Terminal in Batumi
KazTransOil selling its oil terminal in Batumi, according to a statement published on their official website.
“KazTransOil is ready to sell the carrier company Kazmortransflot and the Batumi terminal. Non-core assets, which belong to KazTransOil and KazTransGas will be displayed for privatization,” said Umirzak Shukeyev, Member of the Board of Directors of the JSC Samruk-Kazyna.
The Batumi Oil Terminal is operated by Batumi Industrial Holdings. KazMunaiGas subsidiary structure, KazTransOil, purchased 100% of Batumi Industrial Holdings' shares in February, 2008. Batumi Industrial Holdings has owned the exclusive rights to Batumi port management for 49 years.
Batumi Oil Terminal is a sea point which is used to export Caspian oil and is the only terminal in the Caucasus, on the Black Sea coast, from which liquid gas is exported.
