Coronavirus: Georgia Records 2970 New Cases, 2348 Recoveries, 22 Deaths

2970 newly confirmed cases of infection were detected in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of infected people to 63650, Alexandre Khojevanishvili, representative of the Interagency Coordination Council, stated at a briefing at the Government Administration.

He spoke about the latest statistics on coronavirus and the measures taken by the government in the last 24 hours.

“We still maintain positive dynamics in terms of the growth of recovering people. In particular, 2348 people recovered in the last 24 hours, and the total number of recovered people increased to 47390.

"Unfortunately, 22 people died in the last 24 hours, including 11 in Tbilisi. The virus-related death toll stands at 521,” said Alexandre Khojevanishvili.

Of 2970 new coronavirus cases reported in Georgia, 1130 were recorded in Tbilisi, 653 in Adjara, and 463 in Imereti.

Other cases are distributed to different regions of Georgia: Kvemo Kartli - 109, Shida Kartli – 62, Guria – 63, Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti – 138, Kakheti-94, Mtskheta-Mtianeti-38, Samtskhe-Javakheti- 72, Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti-28.

4709 people continue medical treatment at hospitals and 3066 at COVID hotels.

Currently, there are 15739 active cases in Georgia.
