Coronavirus: Georgia Reports 2911 New Cases, 45 Deaths
2911 new cases of coronavirus have been detected in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of infected people to 66561, Aleksandre Khojevanishvili, representative of the Interagency Coordination Council, stated at a briefing at the Government Administration.
"The total number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 detected in the country since the first infection to date is 66561. We still maintain positive dynamics in terms of the growth of recovering people. In particular, 2421 people recovered in the last 24 hours, and the total number of recoveries increased to 49811.
"Unfortunately, 45 people have died in the last 24 hours. Among them, 18 people died in Tbilisi, 14 in Adjara, 7 in Imereti, 3 in Kvemo Kartli, 2 in Kakheti, and 1 in Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti. Since February 26, 2020, the virus-related death toll stands at 566.
"Of 2911 cases detected today, 1056 cases were detected in Tbilisi, 476 in Adjara, 469 in Imereti, 201 in Kvemo Kartli, 134 in Shida Kartli, 76 in Guria, 294 in Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti, 69 in Kakheti, 19 in Mtskheta-Mtianeti, 92 in Samtskhe-Javakheti, 25 in Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti," he stated.
Currently, 39721 people are self-isolating, 2656 people remain in quarantine and 3181 are undergoing treatment at COVID-Hotels.
At this stage, there are 16184 active cases in the country.
