Pensions in Mountainous Regions to be 216 GEL from September 1st 2016
According to Finance Minister Nodar Khaduri, pensions for people in mountainous regions will be made 216 GEL from September 1st 2016.
Next year’s budget will be fully focused on health and social issues.
“The main priority of the budget is to take care of people and improve their conditions. One third of the budget expenditure is for the Ministry of Health.
This is being used to raise the pension to 180 GEL and, from September 1st next year, the pension will be 216 GEL in mountainous regions,” Khaduri stated.
According to the minister, almost one billion Lari will be spent on infrastructure. The Ministry of Education expenses will also approach one billion Lari for the first time.
Parliament has been discussing the 2016 draft budget, which has been presented by Finance Minister Nodar Khaduri.
