Coronavirus: Georgia Reports 3473 New Cases, with 1493 in Tbilisi
3,473 new cases of coronavirus have been detected in the last 24 hours, Alexandre Khojevanishvili, Head of the Operational Staff of the Interagency Coordination Council, stated during a briefing at the Government Administration.
He discussed the latest coronavirus statistics and the Government's action in the past 24 hours.
"Presently, 3,473 new infection cases have been confirmed. Since the first confirmed case, the country has had 73,154 confirmed cases.
"We are maintaining a positive dynamic in recovery numbers. In particular, 3,342 persons have recovered in the past 24 hours, increasing the total number of recoveries to 55,511.
"Unfortunately, 37 people have died in the past 24 hours, including 13 in Tbilisi, 10 in Adjara, 8 in Imereti, 3 in Kvemo Kartli, 2 in Shida Kartli, and 1 in Kakheti. Since February 26, 2020, we have had a total of 636 fatalities.
"Of the 3,473 cases identified today, 1,493 were confirmed in Tbilisi, 448 in Adjara, 513 in Imereti, 190 in Kvemo Kartli, 175 in Shida Kartli, 55 in Guria, 287 in Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti, 98 in Kakheti, 119 in Mtskheta-Mtianeti, 72 in Samtskhe-Javakheti, and 23 in Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti.
"Presently, we have 16,981 active infection cases. 4,957 persons are being treated in hospitals, including 2,420 in Tbilisi, 789 in Adjara, and 963 in Imereti. We have 633 severe cases, including 309 in Tbilisi, 101 in Adjara, and 163 in Imereti, of whom 357 are on a ventilator, including 191 in Tbilisi, 101 in Adjara, and 33 in Imereti. 3,413 persons are at COVID hotels, including 1,583 in Adjara and 1,272 in Tbilisi, also 294 in Imereti. 8,611 persons are treated at home.
"We have 2,447 persons in quarantine areas, including 358 in Tbilisi, 1,266 in Adjara, and 39 in Imereti. Since October 6 through November 12, a total of 14,575 persons have been transported into the country. Presently, 41,958 persons are self-isolating, including 6,709 in Tbilisi, 17,568 in Adjara, and 4,629 in Imereti," Khojevanishvili said.
