Coronavirus: Georgia Reports 3443 New Cases

3443 newly confirmed cases of infection were detected in the past 24 hours, Alexandre Khojevanishvili, representative of the Interagency Coordination Council, stated at a briefing at the Government Administration.

He noted the total number of cases has reached 89,395.

“We still maintain positive dynamics in terms of the growth of recovering people. In particular, 2539 people recovered in the last 24 hours, and the total number of recovered people increased to 71,468.

"Unfortunately, 37 people died in the last 24 hours, including 19 in Tbilisi”, he said.

The Inter-Agency Coordination Council on COVID-19 has named the locations where 3443 new coronavirus cases were revealed in the past 24 hours.

The locations are as follows:

  • Tbilisi – 1318
  • Imereti – 562
  • Adjara – 512
  • Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti – 368
  • Shida Kartli – 178
  • Kvemo Kartli – 163
  • Samtskhe-Javakheti – 106
  • Kakheti – 85
  • Guria – 64
  • Mtskheta-Mtianeti – 54
  • Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti – 33

As of today, Georgia has 17,086 active coronavirus cases. In total, 836 coronavirus patients are in a serious state, of those, 371 have been put on artificial ventilation.
