Coronavirus: Georgia Reports 3824 New Cases, 33 Deaths
As of today, 3 824 new cases of COVID-19 are confirmed within the last 24 hours. It was announced by Berdia Sichinava, Deputy Head of the Task Force operating at the Inter-Agency Coordination Council at a press briefing held today at the Government Administration.
He spoke about the most recent statistical data in relation with the novel coronavirus.
"As of today, 3 824 new cases of COVID-19 are confirmed within the last 24 hours. Since the outbreak of the pandemic, the total number of COVID infection has reached 100 684.
'We maintain the positive trend of a rising number of recoveries and namely 3 851 individuals have recovered within the last 24 hours, thus making the total number of recoveries reach 81 783.
"Unfortunately, 33 fatal cases caused by COVID-19 have occurred in the country within the last 24 hours, out of which 17 were in Tbilisi. 5 - in Adjara, 8 - in Imereti, 1 - in Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti, 1 - in Kvemo Kartli, and 1 - in Mtskheta-Mtianeti. Since February 26, 2020, total death toll in Georgia has reached 927.
"Out of 3 824 newly identified cases, geographic coverage of detection is as follows: 1 247 cases were identified in Tbilisi, 742 - in Adjara, 609 - in Imereti, 214 - in Kvemo Kartli, 197 - in Shida Kartli, 157 - in Guria, 319 - in Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti, 150 - in Kakheti, 96 - in Mtskheta-Mtianeti, 63 - in Samtskhe-Javakheti and 30 - in Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti.
"At present, the active number of COVID-19 cases are 17 948 in the country, out of which 5 976 people are treated at hospitals: 2 709 - in Tbilisi, 959 - in Adjara and 1 202 - in Imereti. Currently, acute health conditions are observed in the case of 849 patients, out of which 387 are stationed in Tbilisi, 149 - in Adjara and 194 - in Imereti. Lung ventilators are used in the case of 308 patients, out of which 160 are based in Tbilisi, 47 - in Adjara and 37 - in Imereti. 3 445 people are placed at COVID Hotels, out of which 1 132 are based in Tbilisi, 1 672 - in Adjara and 332- in Imereti. 8 527 people are treated at home.
"2 128 people are in quarantine, out of which 461 are based in Tbilisi, 1 022 - in Adjara and 26 - in Imereti.
"The total number of people transported from the sovereign border to quarantine spaces has reached 16 802 in the period of October 6-November 20, 2020.
"At present, 56 344 people are in self-isolation, out of which 15 307 are based in Tbilisi, 19 161 - in Adjara and 5 226 - in Imereti," announced Berdia Sichinava.
