Georgian National Wins "Your Shot" Section of National Geographic

National Geographic awarded Georgian citizen Khatia Basilashvili with a one year subscription to the magazine for her photo depicting Tusheti in their "your shot" section.

Basilashvili uploaded the photo to the official web of National Geographic, in the section “your shot”, where about a million people watch the uploaded photos on a daily basis.

Tusheti is bordered by Dagestan in the east and Khevsureti in the west, Chechnya-Ingushetia in the north and Eastern Kakheti in the south. Tusheti is surrounded by high ridges of 3000-4500 meters. The mountainous region, full of ravines and creeks flowing down from the high mountain peaks, is a popular tourist destination in Georgia.
