Georgia Reports 4033 New Cases of Coronavirus, 39 Deaths
4 033 new cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed within the last 24 hours, announced Berdia Sichinava, Deputy Head of the Task Force operating at the Inter-Agency Coordination Council, at a press briefing held today at the Government Administration.
He spoke about the most recent statistical data related to COVID-19 in Georgia.
“As of today, 4 033 new cases of COVID-19 are confirmed within the last 24 hours. Since the detection of the first case the total number of infected has reached 143 376.
"4 061 individuals have recovered within the last 24 hours, thus making the total number of recoveries reach 121 621.
"Unfortunately, 39 new fatal cases have occurred within the last 24 hours. Since February 26, 2020 the total death toll has reached 1 342.
"Out of 4 033 new cases detected today, geographic coverage of COVID-19 is as follows: 1 705 cases have been detected in Tbilisi, 402 – in Adjara, 624 – in Imereti, 286 – in Kvemo Kartli, 281 – in Shida Kartli, 84 – in Guria, 273 – in Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti, 239 – in Kakheti, 62 – in Mtskheta-Mtianeti, 68 – in Samtskhe-Javakheti and 9 – in Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti.
"At present, active cases of COVID-19 have reached 20 387, out of which 6 397 individuals are treated at hospitals, out of which 2 806 are stationed in Tbilisi, 999 – in Adjara and 1 241 – in Imereti. Currently, acute health conditions are observed in the case of 1 058 patients, out of which 507 are based in Tbilisi, 154 – in Adjara and 223 – in Imereti. Lung ventilators are used in the case of 466 patients, out of which 215 are stationed in Tbilisi, 119 – in Adjara and 47 – in Imereti.
"3 798 individuals are placed at COVID Hotels, out of which 1 272 are based in Tbilisi, 1 973– in Adjara and 291 – in Imereti. 10 192 individuals are treated at home.
"1 980 individuals are placed in quarantine, out of which 465 are located in Tbilisi, 1 004 – in Adjara and 31 – in Imereti.
"In total, 19 641 individuals have been transported from the sovereign border to quarantine spaces in the period of October 6 through December 1, 2020.
"At present, 51 765 individuals are in self-isolation, out of which 19 203 are based in Tbilisi, 11 505 – in Adjara and 4 996 – in Imereti,” announced Berdia Sichinava.
