Coronavirus: Georgia Records 4260 New Cases, 45 Deaths

In the last 24 hours, 4,260 new confirmed cases of the virus have been identified, Berdia Sichinava, representative of the Interagency Coordination Council, said at a briefing at the Government Administration.

"4,260 newly confirmed cases of the virus have been identified in the last 24 hours. The total number of confirmed cases detected since the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic in the country amounts to 147,636. In the last 24 hours, 2,947 people were recovered, and the total number of recoveries increased to 124,568.

"Unfortunately, we have 45 new cases of coronavirus deaths in the last 24 hours. Since February 26, 2020, we have a total of 1,387 deaths.

"Of the 4,260 new cases of infection detected today, 1,676 cases were reported in Tbilisi, 525 in Adjara, 591 in Imereti, 351 in Kvemo Kartli, 294 in Shida Kartli, 131 in Guria, in Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti - 274, in Kakheti - 166, in Mtskheta-Mtianeti - 134, in Samtskhe-Javakheti - 88, in Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti - 30.

"At present, active cases of COVID-19 have reached 21 655, out of which 6 561 individuals are treated at hospitals, out of which 2 843 are stationed in Tbilisi, 1 043 - in Adjara and 1 255 - in Imereti.

"Currently, acute health conditions are observed in the case of 1 027 patients, out of which 486 are based in Tbilisi, 152 - in Adjara and 218 - in Imereti. Lung ventilators are used in the case of 390 patients, out of which 206 are stationed in Tbilisi, 45 - in Adjara and 43 - in Imereti. 3 867 individuals are placed at COVID Hotels, out of which 1 283 are based in Tbilisi, 1 997 - in Adjara and 332 - in Imereti. 11 227 individuals are treated at home.

"1 974 individuals are placed in quarantine, out of which 478 are located in Tbilisi, 970 - in Adjara and 31 - in Imereti.

"In total, 19 769 individuals have been transported from the sovereign border to quarantine spaces in the period of October 6 through December 2, 2020.

"At present, 50 544 individuals are in self-isolation, out of which 18 675 are based in Tbilisi, 11 775 - in Adjara and 5 080 - in Imereti," he stated.
