Georgia Reports 4673 New Cases of Coronavirus, 36 Deaths

4,673 new confirmed cases of coronavirus were detected in the last 24 hours, Berdia Sichinava, representative of the Interagency Coordination Council, said at the briefing held at the Government Administration today.

"As part of 2 months of intensive testing, 16,646 tests were performed in the last 24 hours, including 11,400 antigen tests and 5,246 PCRs.

"As a result, 4,673 newly confirmed cases of the infection were identified in the last 24 hours. The total number of confirmed cases detected since the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic is 169,649.

"The new cases were distributed by regions as follows:

Tbilisi - 1 729
Adjara - 339
Imereti - 673
Kvemo Kartli - 419
Shida Kartli - 354
Guria - 126
Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti - 388
Kakheti - 384
Mtskheta-Mtianeti - 109
Samtskhe-Javakheti - 111
Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti - 41

"3,893 people have recovered and the total number of recovered persons has increased to 141,392.

"Unfortunately, we have 36 new cases of death. The total death toll has reached 1,576,” he said.
