Among those who were fined are citizens who violated the restriction of movement from 9 pm to 5 am.
In addition to the mentioned, 784 persons were fined for not wearing face masks, a crime envisaged under Article 42 (11) of the Code of Administrative Offences.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs calls on citizens to adhere to the imposed restrictions, noting appropriate measures provided by law will be applied if they fail to do so.

Violation of the rules of isolation and quarantine shall result in administrative liability and a fine in the amount of 2,000 GEL for physical persons and 10,000 GEL for a legal entity in accordance with Article 42 (10) under the Code of Administrative Offences. The secondary fine will be treated as a criminal offense committed under the Criminal Code of Georgia," reads the statement published by the MIA.
The restrictions were tightened again at the end of November as the country saw a surge of COVID cases, continuously recording over 4000 cases daily. The regulations will loosen up from December 24 in an attempt to make the holidays in unprecedented times as normal as possible. From January 3, however, it is planned to bring back the restrictions - closing all but essential shops, and businesses, limiting public transportation.
In the past 24 hours, Georgia registered 3837 COVID cases, 24 deaths, and 3105 recoveries.
