Health Minister: Medicine 'Remedisivir' Already in Georgia

Remdesivir, a US-produced medicine used against Covid-19, is already in Georgia, Health Minister Ekaterine Tikaradze announced today. 

She stated at the briefing after the government session that 'Remedisivir' will be used in the treatment of those infected with coronavirus from Monday.

"The medicine which everyone was waiting for arrived yesterday. 'Remedsivir' is now in Georgia and it will be used for the treatment of those patients for which it will be considered to be effective and safe to improve their health. The medicine will be distributed under the leadership of Tengiz Tsertsvadze, Director General of the Infectious Diseases, AIDS and Clinical Immunology Research Center," the Minister said.
