British Epidemiologist: New Strain of Coronavirus Also Poses Threat to Children

The new, so-called the "British strain" of coronavirus also poses a threat to children, University of London epidemiologist Deepti Gurdasani wrote on Twitter.

In her assessment, the virus mutation is 1.74 times faster than the SARS-CoV-2 strain, and poses a threat not only to adults but also to under-19s.

A new mutation in SARS-CoV-2 was discovered in the UK mid-December. Today, it is already registered in more than 20 countries around the world.
