Patriarch Tests Negative for Coronavirus

The Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, Ilia II, was tested for coronavirus and the result is negative, the head of the public relations department of the Patriarchate, Archpriest Andria Jagmaidze, announced. 

Jagmaidze explained to journalists that currently only the secretary of the Patriarch, Shorena Tetruashvili, is in isolation, having tested positive for the virus. 

"On Saturday, the Lugar Laboratory conducted 55 tests at the Patriarchate, and all test results were negative, including that of His Holiness and Beatitude," he noted. 

For the record, Secretary of the Catholicos-Patriarch of Georgia, Shorena Tetruashvili, tested positive for coronavirus on January 8.
