Coronavirus: Georgia Reports 1177 New Cases, 26 Deaths

Georgia reported 1177 coronavirus cases, 837 recoveries, and 26 deaths on Friday, reports the Press Service of the Georgian government.

As part of intensive testing, 15,205 tests were conducted across the country in the last 24 hours, including 7,265 antigen tests and 7,940 PCR tests.

Georgian capital Tbilisi recorded the highest number of 496 Covid-19 cases within the last 24 hours.

Out of 1,177 new cases of infection detected in the country today: 496 cases were reported in Tbilisi, Adjara - 52, Imereti - 187, Kvemo Kartli - 83, Shida Kartli - 83, Guria - 33, Samegrelo and Zemo Svaneti - 105, Kakheti - 88, Mtskheta-Mtianeti - 25, Samtskhe-Javakheti - 20, Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti - 5.

The total number of confirmed cases now stands at 245 789, among them 229 196 people recovered and 2 893 died.

There are 499 people placed in government-assigned quarantine facilities, 3 732 Covid-19 patients are hospitalized, 648 people are placed at Covid Hotels, 9 294 asymptomatic, and mild symptom patients are being treated at home, 23 772 people are in self-isolation.

Currently, there are 777 critical patients, among them, 238 require mechanical ventilation.
