Georgia Reports 1236 New Cases of Coronavirus

Georgia reported 1 236 coronavirus cases, 2 189 recoveries, and 23 deaths on Saturday, reports the Press Service of the Prime Minister.

Georgian capital Tbilisi recorded the highest number of 485 Covid-19 cases within the last 24 hours, followed by the Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti region with 122 cases, and the Imereti region with 219 cases.

"15 152 tests were performed in the last 24 hours, including 9 208 antigen tests and 5 944 PCRs.

"As a result, 1 236 newly confirmed cases of the infection were identified in the last 24 hours. The total number of confirmed cases detected since the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic is 247 025.

"2 189 people have recovered and the total number of recovered persons has increased to 231 385.

"Unfortunately, we have 23 new cases of death. The total number of deaths has reached 2 916”, reads the official information. 

Presently, there are 770 critical patients across the country, among them, 238 require mechanical ventilation.
