Georgia Reports 998 New Cases of Coronavirus

As part of the intensive testing, 16,267 tests were conducted across the country in the last 24 hours, including 8,855 antigen tests and 7,412 PCR tests.

The tests revealed 998 new cases of the virus in the last 24 hours. The total number of confirmed cases since the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic in the country amounts to 252,972.

In the last 24 hours, 1,892 people have recovered from the virus, bringing the total to 240,629.

16 new coronavirus-related deaths were reported in the last 24 hours. A total of 3,038 people have died from the virus since the pandemic spread.

Out of 998 new cases of infection detected in the country today: 448 cases were reported in Tbilisi, Adjara - 31, Imereti - 170, Kvemo Kartli - 51, Shida Kartli - 68, Guria - 31, Samegrelo - Zemo Svaneti - 116, Kakheti - 50, Mtskheta-Mtianeti - 17, Samtskhe-Javakheti-13, Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti - 3.

There are 530 people placed in government-assigned quarantine facilities, 3 302 Covid-19 patients are hospitalized, 444 asymptomatic and mild symptom patients are being treated at government-assigned treatment facilities.
