Coronavirus: Georgia Reports 1006 New Cases, 25 Deaths

1006 new confirmed cases of coronavirus were detected in the last 24 hours, Berdia Sichinava, representative of the Interagency Coordination Council, said at the briefing held at the Government Administration. He spoke about the latest statistics on coronavirus.

“17,349 tests were performed in the last 24 hours, including 5857 antigen tests and 11,492 PCRs.

"The tests revealed 1006 newly confirmed cases of infection in the last 24 hours. Georgian capital Tbilisi recorded the highest number of 426 Covid-19 cases within the last 24 hours, followed by the Imereti region with 202 cases and the Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti region with 98 cases.

"The total number of confirmed cases detected since the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic is 254 822.

"1050 people have recovered and the total number of recoveries has increased to 244 446.

"Unfortunately, we have 25 new cases of death. The total number of deaths has reached 3096.

"There are 490 people placed in government-assigned quarantine facilities, 3069 Covid-19 patients are hospitalized, and 353 are placed at Covid hotels," he stated.
