Another Rally Held against Restrictions

On January 26, another rally was held in front of the Government Chancellery in Tbilisi, with protesters demanding the lifting of restrictions imposed during the pandemic.

The rally was organized by Gega Salukvadze, a representative of the organization "Protect Mountain Resorts".

Representatives of various businesses and industries were present at the rally, and demanded the lifting of restrictions across the country.

Demonstrators noted that if the government does not do so, the protests will continue.

Representatives of opposition parties were also present at the rally: "National Movement", "European Georgia", "Girchi", "Lelo", etc.

In parallel with the rally, Vice Prime Minister Maia Tskitishvili said that there are no plans to open ski resorts from February 1 due to high mobility, which will promote the rapid spread of infection.

Based on the government's decision, the following restrictions will remain in force from February 1:

  • Curfew - Citizens will not be allowed to go out without a permit from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM;
  • Restrictions imposed on ski resorts;
  • Restriction on intercity traffic;
  • Wearing of face masks, keeping distance, managing the flow of customers in trading facilities.
