Former Frontera Employees Hold a Protest, Demand Salaries
Former employees of the oil company Frontera held a protest in Dedoplistskaro today, urging the company to pay them salaries.
Frontera company explores and produces crude oil and natural gas.
Protesters have objected to withdrawing extracted oil from the tank farms until Frontera pays due salaries to all employees.
“The company promised to pay us salaries, but it lied,” said Levan Lapiashvili, one of the protesters.
Frontera’s manager Giorgi Janiashvili said the company is "ready to meet with former employees to resolve the dispute".
Former employees appealed to the court with the same demand back in 2020. However, the lawsuit was dismissed. Then they won the case against Frontera at the International Court of Arbitration. The company has to pay salaries to 84 employees to the total amount of approximately GEL 1 million.
