President Pardons 238 Inmates

Georgia’s President has pardoned over two-hundred inmates in light of the Christmas holidays.

The Head of the Pardon Commission Zviad Koridze announced that President Giorgi Margvelashvili pardoned 238 inmates, 172 of whom, including 11 women and 2 juveniles, will celebrate Christmas with their loved ones today.

The remaining 66 prisoners will remain in custody but saw their confinements reduced, Koridze said.

“I am honored to inform you that today, on December 25, the President of Georgia has issued a pardoning act, freeing or reducing the terms of 238 inmates. 18 of them are women and 3 are underage,” Koridze said.
