Issues of IDPs Discussed at Cabinet Sitting

Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili convened key government officials to discuss state projects supporting refugees and potential new efforts.

The governmental Press Office stated the meeting was attended by the Cabinet members, the Chairmen of Health and Social Affairs Committee, members of the European Integration, Human Rights and Civil Integration Committee and the Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Accommodation and Refugees.

Sozar Subari, the Minister of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Accommodation and Refugees, presented the Ministry’s future projects and proposed plans for 2016.

According to the information, the meeting also included discussion on ways to enhance the effectiveness of state policies to better address the needs of refugees. Officials underlined the importance of providing refugees with equal conditions, improved quality of life and better access to education.

The PM held similar meetings with Cabinet members to discuss the progress of projects implemented by other institutions including: Regional Development and Infrastructure; Education and Science; Sustainable Economic Development; Environment and Natural Resources; Agriculture and Energy.
