Azerbaijan Temporary Bans Import of Livestock from Georgia

The South-East neighbor of Georgia will officially impose a temporary ban on the import of live animals and animal products from Georgia.

From January 30, Azerbaijan will prevent import of cattle from Georgia to prevent the spread of the H1N1 virus among Cattle and small ruminants from Georgia.

The spokesperson of the State Veterinary Control Service, Yolchu Khanveli, told APA the World Organization for Animal Health will announce their advice tomorrow.

The temporary ban will officially start from tomorrow onward in Azerbaijan on imports of live animals and products of animal origin on the order of the State Veterinary Inspectorate.

According APA, relevant authorized government agencies will implement the order as well.
