Renovated Turtle Lake Cable-car to Open in September

TBILISI  - A renovated cable-car to Tbilisi’s Turtle Lake will open in September, Tbilisi City Hall announced on Wednesday.

The 1.1 million GEL restoration work on the cable-car system began in spring 2015.

Turtle Lake, known as Kus Tba in Georgian, is a small lake on the outskirts of Tbilisi popular with the city’s residents as a recreational zone and venue for concerts and festivals.

The renovated cable-car is expected to significantly reduce road traffic to the lake during the peak summer months. The newly updated cabins operating on the cable-car will be fully adapted to accommodate disabled passengers.
