Export of Wine Increased 13% in January

According to the National Wine Agency, export of Georgian wine has increased by 13% in January 2016 compared to the same period in the previous year.

According to the data, in January 2016 Georgia exported 1,521,802 bottles of wine to 19 countries, which is 13% higher than last year, worth a total of $3.62 million.

The country also exported 562,930 bottles of Brandy to 6 countries, worth around $1.51 million, which is 104% higher than the same period last year.

The top five exporting countries are: Russia - 960 462 bottles, Ukraine -199 722, Poland - 114 276, China - 45 160, Lithuania - 44 850 bottles.

The total income from exporting wine, brandy, Chacha (Georgian pomace brandy) and brandy spirits was $6.6 million in January.
